What’s not to adore about this site - a fantastic variety of visuals available for everyone. Just today, I stumbled upon a stunning depiction of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph with brown skin - it really highlights that you’re not focused solely on white-centric imagery - what a gift it is to have access to multi-ethnic representations.

I contributed to the artist (they asked for it before I could download) - the payment processed, and right after, my account became inactive. Now I can't log in to grab the audio.

A lot of images seem to be lifted from other sources by users. Neither Pixabay nor these users hold the rights to those pictures, so if you decide to use them for business purposes, you might run into some legal issues.

The images are great and there's a solid variety, but the pricing is pretty outrageous. Plus, the buying process isn't straightforward and ends up taking a lot of time.

If you decide to use the music on YouTube, be prepared for copyright claims. So, it ain't exactly 'free,' is it?

This is one of the top sites out there for royalty-free pictures. It's super helpful, and you can find a bunch of images to use without any cost.

It seems like most folks leaving reviews for Pixabay are actually the artists. They’re just trying to get donations from people. Plus, it’s turned into a bit of a mess with adult content.
Let me share my experience.
I’m a graphic artist and was once among the top illustrators on Pixabay. Canva bought a site where I have about 11,000 images available for download, and I get donations that range from $50 to $300 daily. I’ve been part of this since 2017. As of January 2019, my images were mainly used to enhance graphics and add text. After Canva acquired Pixabay in 2019, they got super popular in the US around 2021, and that’s when they started using our images for their users without even asking us artists. They didn’t give any heads-up. This year, I discovered all 11,000 of my images on Canva. I reached out to them via email, but they claimed I was harassing them. I informed Pixabay that I’d consider legal action, and they threatened to deactivate my account. On May 25, 2022, they went ahead and shut down my account without any notice and didn’t remove my images either. Maybe what they’re doing is within the law, but it’s definitely not right. They’re profiting off my artwork without my permission, and I put a lot of effort into creating it. This is a lousy way to treat a small business. So, I say BOYCOTT PIXABAY AND CANVA.

The variety offered was fantastic, and the coolest thing was that the pictures didn’t cost a dime. I make donations since a bunch of the images are truly stunning. Really dig this site. Absolutely top-notch!
